My latest portrait is of Texas musician James "Slim" Hand of West, Texas. James is the real deal when it comes to country music. He recently signed with Rounder Records. Check him out at www.jamesslimhand.com. This portrait portrays James with his guitar standing in front of The Broken Spoke, a world-famous dance hall located in Austin, Texas where James and his band frequently play. It was truly an honor to paint such an excellent musician and very kind and humble man!
Plans are in the works to paint another Texas musician, Billy Dee from Austin, Texas. Billy is a phenomenal bass player as well as singer/songwriter. Check him out at www.billyfdee.com. His latest cd "When The Vow Breaks" is absolutely wonderful!
Personal projects at the moment include a self-portrait and also a series of moon paintings for the upcoming Christmas show at the Noank Historical Society gallery. I am also currently working on a series of illustrations for my latest children's book entitled, "Merle, It's Storytime!".
